Magusto in Madalena warmed hearts and revived traditions once again

The historic center of Madalena was filled with sounds, aromas, and smiles in a celebration that lived up to the spirit of Saint Martin on November 11. Hundreds of people of all ages gathered around the embers to share moments of conviviality, laughter, and joy, where friendship and tradition went hand in hand.

Organized by the Municipality of Chaves and the Union of Parishes of Madalena and Samaiões, the magusto was once again synonymous with community and enthusiasm. Roasted chestnuts, homemade jeropiga, and typical snacks added flavor to a party that brought autumn to the streets, amid the smell of firewood and the sound of laughter.

The local taverns came to life, the music of the group Brisa do Marão made generations dance, and the sky lit up with fireworks, like a shower of stars celebrating São Martinho.

More than a tradition, this festival reaffirmed itself as a moment of pride in the roots of Chaves — a celebration that warmed not only the hands but also the hearts of all who participated.
